LIKE YOU, I FORGOT (RIP ALAIN RESNAIS)

Resnais’ Hiroshima Mon Amour was hugely influential on your interest in memory. Although watching clips from the film now, you see how it was influential perhaps even more on your interest in forgetting.

There was a turning point: a Spring night in 2004, discussing the film as well as William Basinski’s Disintegration Loops and cracking jokes about Hundertwasser, with J at the bar of the Lime Spider in Akron before watching the Make Believe play an awful set. It was time for an exit, time to further pursue those interests.
